Simon Jinks has been teaching on boats for twenty years, starting in dinghies and small powerboats and graduating up to yachts and motorboats.
As an RYA Yachtmaster Examiner for sail and motorboats, he has travelled all over the world on boats up to 80ft, from Scotland to New Zealand and the Mediterranean to the Caribbean. He is now the Chief Cruising Instructor for the RYA, overseeing the Motor and Sail Cruising instructional programmes.

As would be expected of any book from the RYA this book is exceptionally good. Made better by being in colour with excellent illustrations. The author really does know his subject inside out and has written the book so well you do not have any questions that are unanswered.
Not only is this book the best available it is also a very reasonably price, especially when you compare it to some other publisher books which cost more and have poor quality photographs or are in black and white!
